National Children's Advocacy Center Volunteer Opportunities
April is nationally recognized as child abuse prevention month for the National Children's Advocacy Center. The NCAC models, promotes, and delivers excellence in child abuse response and prevention through service, education, and leadership.

HEALS on the Green Pro-Am Golf Event
HEALS, Inc. (Health Establishments at Local Schools), which helps us continue to provide free medical and dental care to some of our community's most underprivileged children, is hosting a golf event on Monday, April 12. Cost is $200 per player or $800 per team and will take place at the Ledges in Hsv. Shotgun starts at 8am & 1pm. Lunch for all at 12 noon.
They are also having a pre-party on Sunday, April 11 from 5pm to 7pm before Monday's tournament and everyone is invited, not just the players. There will be live music, putt putt, food and beverages, and there is also a chance for players to preregister.

Kiwanis Club of Huntsville - Pancake Breakfast
Saturday, March 6th, Kiwanis Club of Huntsville will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast at the Huntsville High Cafeteria from 6 am to 12 noon. Tickets purchased before the event are $5 for an "all you can eat" pancake breakfast. Tickets purchased at the door are $6. LogiCore kindly donated $100 to purchase 20 tickets to the breakfast.

Scholarship Fund
The Miranda Bouldin Scholarship Fund is to provide educational grants to the deserving young people of Madison County, Madison City, Huntsville City, and Lawrence County. Each year the fund offers four non-renewable scholarships of $1500 and four laptops. These scholarships are for students, who have made a commitment to attend a 4-year Alabama College or University and are designed to bridge the gap between financial aid granted by colleges, state and federal aid sources and the recipient's need in order to attend college.

Toyota suspended sales of eight models recalled to fix potential problems with sticky accelerator pedals.
The company issued the 2.3 million vehicle recall last week, adding to another recall of 4.2 million Toyota and Lexus branded vehicles, to reduce the risk of the pedals' getting trapped by floor mats. About 1.7 million vehicles are subject to both recalls.
Due to the sales suspension, Toyota is expected to stop producing the vehicles next week.

- In May, the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Expedited Professional and Engineering Support Services (EXPRESS) awarded LogiCore a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) in the Logistics domain. The AMCOM EXPRESS Program allows Team Redstone to procure needed services quickly.
- In November, we received a subcontract to provide engineering and technical support for command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) to the US Army Electronic Proving Ground (EPG). We will be supporting prime contractor ManTech International Corporation under the 5-year, $286 million award.

The holiday season is upon us and, like many, I’m very busy shopping for gifts and making arrangements for the holidays. I’m looking forward to spending time with my family and friends, and hope you are also enjoying the season.
Please take a moment with me to remember LogiCore employees and all service members who are in Iraq and stationed elsewhere around the world, as they are away from their loved ones defending democracy and the United States’ national interests. LogiCore Supports Redstone's MOPP Shop
Located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, the Maintenance Operations Procedures and Prototype (MOPP) Facility, also known as the MOPP Shop, concentrates on modifying, updating, and resetting missile systems, but also develops actionable solutions in other critical areas. For example, the Redstone Arsenal MOPP Facility was instrumental in adapting the Army Avenger air defense system’s M3P .50 caliber machine gun for use on the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopters in Iraq and Afghanistan. This substitution was needed because the previous OH-58D machine gun was very unreliable and inadequate, unsuitable for the Kiowa helicopters’ scouting missions.
The MOPP Facility makes it possible for soldiers to troubleshoot and repair missile components in the field, which greatly increases missile availability and reduces cost. LogiCore employees, along with other government and contractors, evaluate and repair the Automated Test Equipment (ATE) as part of the U.S. Army Test Program Set (TPS) used in the field to troubleshoot and repair missile components. The TPS consists of the particular software, hardware, and documentation that are used with computer controlled test equipment to detect and isolate failures within a unit under test.
Typically located in shelter vans, ATE such as Integrated Family of Test Equipment (IFTE) are shipped to Redstone Arsenal from around the world, and our employees conduct numerous tests of the automated test equipment, which is used in the maintenance and support of Army materiel and for conducting maintenance and repair. The shelters are then shipped back to the gaining unit and our employees perform on-site logistics and maintenance support at the unit location to ensure 100 percent operational availability.

LogiCore to Support ManTech: US Army Electronic Proving Ground
LogiCore Corporation has received a subcontract from ManTech International Corporation to provide engineering and technical support for command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) to the US Army Electronic Proving Ground (EPG).
LogiCore, a woman-owned, 8(a), small business, will support prime contractor ManTech International Corporation under the 5-year, $286 million award.
“LogiCore is very pleased to support EPG in providing engineering and technical testing solutions in support of the Warfighter,” said Miranda Bouldin, President/CEO of LogiCore. Also, Ms. Bouldin reiterated the comments by Louis Addeo, President, ManTech Technical Services Group as he said, “Our successful award on this program is the result of our exceptional teamwork and leadership, innovative network test tools and resource optimization applications, and competitive cost structure. We look forward to putting our innovations and efficiencies to work for this critical component of the U.S. Army testing community.”

Army Aviation Maintenance Conference (AAMC)
LogiCore is pleased to announce the Army Aviation Maintenance Conference (AAMC) which is scheduled for November 30 through December 3, 2009, at the Redstone Arsenal Sparkman Complex’s Bob Jones Auditorium.
As noted on the Conference website, the AAMC provides, “a forum for aviation maintainers to discuss tactical and strategic maintenance issues affecting aviation readiness, and to determine solutions to best support current and future aviation operations.”
Sessions are scheduled to include a Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation Overview, an Army Force Generation (ARFORGEN) update and information about deployment equipment sets, Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), Army Test and Evaluation Command/Redstone Technical Test Center (ATEC/RTTC) and Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation (ULLS-A). Field maintenance, operations planning, and in-theater Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) lessons learned information will also be presented. Breakout sessions include discussions of the UH-60, AH-64, OH-58, CH-47 and UH-1 platforms.
Please note attendance is restricted to US military, DA civilians, and contractors; foreign military personnel and representatives of foreign-owned companies are prohibited. Dress is Duty Uniform for military and business casual for civilians.

LogiCore Salutes America's Veterans
On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, an armistice was signed which ended the fighting in World War I. Although the official end of the war occurred seven months later with the Treaty of Versailles, what became known as Veterans Day was observed November 11 in honor of the armistice signing. Veterans Day honors American veterans of all wars.

The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Expedited Professional and Engineering Support Services’ (EXPRESS) Program allows Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) holders to compete to provide high-quality, cost-effective services to AMCOM.
The AMCOM EXPRESS Program’s open season, which is anticipated to begin approximately October 12, 2009, provides BPA holders the opportunity to reorganize their existing teams by adding or removing members, or by changing a teammate’s status. As a BPA holder in the Logistics Domain, LogiCore is looking for companies to increase the Team’s capabilities in any of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements and AMCOM Supported Systems.

Women In Defense Workshop
LogiCore is pleased to announce the Women in Defense (WID) workshop titled “Preparing to Support Challenges in National Security.” The workshop will be October 14, 2009 at the Marriot Tranquility (located beside the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama). A National Security Organization, WID cultivates and supports the advancement and recognition of women in all aspects of national security. Speakers at the workshop will include:
- Major General Susan Lawrence, Commander of the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command
- Ms. Kathryn Condon, Executive Deputy to the Commanding General, Army Materiel Command
- Ms. Vickie Plunkette, professional staff member of the House Armed Services Committee – Military Readiness
- Brigadier General Heidi Brown, Deputy Commander of the Sustainment Multi-National Corps – Iraq
Panel discussions will include technology challenges, acquisition and contracting challenges, and foreign military sales in national security.

Maintaining the Air Force Tactical Automated Security System (TASS)
In order to protect critical areas such as fixed site air bases, semi-permanent Forward Operating Bases (FOBs), and mobile tactical deployments, the U.S. Air Force (USAF) needs to be able to sense intruders and to assess situations. To provide this force protection capability, USAF currently employs a base personnel intrusion detection and surveillance system called the Tactical Automated Security System (TASS) at its CONUS and overseas bases.
When the U.S. Army developed its Counter-Rocket, Artillery and Mortar (C-RAM) Program to counter insurgent threats in Iraq, it leveraged the USAF TASS capabilities. The C-RAM PMO consulted with the USAF Program Manager on TASS functionality, and refined its capability as part of C-RAM’s System of Systems (SoS) to provide a core Integrated Base Defense System of Systems (IBDSoS) capability at selected FOBs in Iraq.
LogiCore Corporation, a systems engineering and technical assistance (SETA) contractor, provides TASS Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) to C-RAM’s PMO Logistics Management Division (LMD). For example, Mr. Will Palfrey, a retired USAF Logistics Plans and Programs Officer, is the TASS Product Manager. He currently manages several line items of equipment worth hundreds of millions of dollars. He is responsible for supervising the TASS supply chain, providing vital theater wartime equipment that protects Soldiers in wartime.
LogiCore experts provide system reliability and maintainability solutions in managing the entire supply chain and maintain end-to-end visibility including obsolescence management. LogiCore has provided effective and efficient supply chain management and CLS for the last three years resulting in providing the Warfighter with high-performing combat capabilities on time and within contracted cost.
“Our goal is to optimize material requirements, spares, inventory, on-demand parts, and business processes and pursue continuous process improvements to increase Warfighter readiness,” said Palfrey. The actions are increasing readiness for the C-RAM PMO as the SoS has achieved greater than 95 percent operational readiness in a wartime environment that has provided almost 2,000 localized warnings of incoming attacks.
